Crazy Love

I think that if people enter a relationship they need to be able to picture themselves with that person. If they can’t even do that then the relationship won’t work out. I also think that have to give a take a little, and except each other for who they are. Not only that, both need to accept the fact that they have differences, and if they want it to work out that have to try and work around these differences. In a relationship you need to be very honest with each other and tell the truth. I know that in past relationships I have experienced my boyfriend, not necessarily lying to me, but he would always leave out little details so that he could stay out of trouble. And I also found that in that relationship instead of him accepting things about me, he would always make it about him and how I need to let things go, even if he hurt my feelings. That was a tough relationship and was hard to get through. I think that eternal love is possible between two people. In some cases many may not find one that is better than the one they have. But I also think that it depends on the type of person they are.

Loving Late Motherhood

I think that many women love the fact that they do not have to have children right away, and they can wait until they are in their late thirties to have one. As Cabot said they like that fact that they like to settle themselves down first, before adding another burden to their lives. They want to be able to support themselves, before they have to provide for another. Once they have that out of the way they can concentrate on finding someone to settle down with, and then have children. Both of my parents didn’t finish college because they had my older sister, and then they continued to have children. Now we are a family of seven with five children. One thing that I know that my mother and father regret is that they didn’t finish school, even though they say that they would not change anything that they did in the past. Even though its sounds stupid and makes college sounds like a waste of time for me, I want to become a stay at home mom, I love children, and want to be there for everything that they need. I also don’t want a lot of children so that I will be able to support them, and makes sure they get a good education, and get almost everything that they want in life. I should be out of college by the time I am twenty-one and I would love to b married by the time I’m thirty so I can start my family as soon as possible.

The Politics of Rescue

So there are many people in the U.S. that think that we should stay out of other countries problems. To an extent I agree with them, but then again I also don’t. The reason I think that the U.S. should stay out of other countries problems is because we are using are money. We are using our money to “help” people that in some cases do not want to be helped. This meaning that some countries are fine with the way that they are and because the U.S. government thinks that they need to be changed they do something about it. Another reason that they should stay out of these countries is not only because they are using our money, but they are also using our soldiers. Many soldiers are over there right now in Iraq fighting a war that they have no idea what it is about. That is one reason why many people don’t want to join the army because they feel like they are fighting unnecessary battles. But as I said some times I think that the U.S. needs to intervene with certain countries problems. A perfect example is what is going on in Darfur. Thousands of people are dying daily and no one is doing anything about it. It is basically another genocide, like the holocaust. It is a situation like this that I think that the U.S. needs to do something. I’m not just saying that we should just throw our soldiers in there but we need to get the U.N. to do something about what is going on, and get multiple countries to help out.

Why Fight the War

I agree with comments Bennett makes in his article “Why We Fight”. I also agree with Aquinas three main criteria for determining if one could initiate war. The three reasons were: whether war is declared by a legitimate sovereign; whether it is for a just cause (avenges wrongs or rights an injustice); and whether the belligerents “intend the advancement of good, or avoidance of evil”. I think that if a country is going to go to war for either of these reasons than it is okay. For example, when September 11th happened a lot of Americans wanted to go to war to get back at those who harmed us. So the war against terrorism was just back then, but I think that know, so many years later it needs to end. I know that many other people would agree with me when I say that. I also agree with the fact that they should not harm prisoner of war. The also shouldn’t harm innocent citizens. Finally I agree with the fact that in some cases if no action is taken, that evil may expand. Such as in Darfur nothing is being done to stop the genocide, so it is getting worse.

Al Gore

I think that we has people who live on this world really need to take a listen as to what Al Gore is trying to say. He is a respectable person in the country and you can clearly tell that global warming is of great concern to him. As should it be to all of us. The "inconvenient truth" about the world is not only are many countries in war right now, but as a whole we are in danger. The CO2 is raising and is burning our atmosphere, which can cause great danger to our planet. Not only are we dumping waste less CO2 into the air but we are cutting down trees in mass quantities that it just making matter a whole lot worse. Al Gore tells us, with scientific proof that if we don't start to act now that the world will undergo greater catastrophes than hurricane Katrina. we will experience them all over in the Atlantic, and the Pacific. Al Gore believes that people are failing to listen to these warnings because they think that there is no way that anything could happen to the earth in our generation. People think that it would take for ever for us humans to complete ruin the ozone layer, have the earth fry, ice caps melt, and have it be the end of the world. And although they are probably right, it won't happen in our life time, we should all try and think about the future and what we are doing to harm it. I know that i do not want my children, or even my children's children, dealing with something as horrible has hurricane Katrina or things even worse.

Where Am I Really From?

I think that the testing is really neat. For many years whenever some one asks what ethnicity I am I usually say half Cuban, half mutt. I know that my grand parents came over from Cuba, and that my mom was born here. My dad basically says that he is Italian, Irish, German, and basically everything else from Europe. But I have always wondered exactly what he is, and how much I truly am Cuban. I think that this testing is a really cool thing because he helps people find out where they really came from. I also think that it can, I don’t want to say hurtful, but I guess shocking would be a better word. Say for example me, my whole life I have been telling people that I am half Cuban, if I found out that I was anything less than that, I would be upset. It would be very interesting to know but I would be upset because I enjoy the reaction that I get from people when I tell them that I’m Cuban. DNA testing is something that I would like to do because it would finally help me know where I truly come from.

Your Gamete

I feel bad for those families who cannot have children on their own. Personally I do not know what I would do if I was unable to have children when I was older. But this reading helped me realize that having someone donate one of their eggs to someone else is a lot more difficult than it seems. Knowing that my child is not going to look like me, but another woman would crush me. And I would have no idea what to say if one day my child asked me why he or she doesn’t look like me. But if I wasn’t able to have babies I probably would adopt one because what’s the point in trying to make something where it can’t happen, when you can save a perfectly normal child.

Facebook: why i love it response

Facebook is a good tool that I love to use. I think that it is a good tool that can easily be used to keep in contact with people. For example, I have a friend who I was very close with that moved away to Costa Rica four years ago, and I haven't seen her since. It has also been three years since the last time I heard her voice. Facebook is basically the only way that I stay in contact with her now. Not only is it free, but I get to see how much she has changed through her pictures by simply looking through them. I believe that Facebook is the new MySpace. Personally I used to be on MySpace all the time, leaving wall post to my friends here and there, leaving messages to people. But once I got Facebook two years ago, I barely ever go on MySpace now. Facebook, as sad as it sounds, has helped me become better friends with people. For example, say I meet someone at a party or something, and say they friend request me. I may message them and then we would start talking, exchange numbers, and start talking. Most likely we will try and meet up again at another party or something. I just find Facebook to be a great way to interact with people, stay in touch with others, and meet new friends. Although talking to people is always better in some cases it can save you money. Instead of buying a phone card, you can simply send your friend a wall post, Facebook chat, or a message.
